A woman suffers more mental torture.

In countries like India where women remain at home and men go out for work and earn money for the house, the women have to suffer more. They are wholly dependant upon husbands and when the husbands are out they have to wait for them for so many hours. And they know anything can happen with the man who is out. She consumes time in carrying out homework, but when she is sitting idle, immediately she starts thinking about the men who are out to work. She does not know whether all shall come back safe and sound. We all know there is rush on the roads and an accident can happen at any time. If she reads news papers and listen to radio or have a look, she shall find that there had been an accident and somebody had died. There had been two people who suddenly started fighting amongst each other and out of them one is killed. There could be a murder out of some enmity. There are chances that her husband may be having some illicit relations with an other woman and he might be enjoying life with that woman. There could be something bad with the husband who was not having good relations with his boss or he had done something which is a misconduct and the department has already initiated disciplinary proceedings against her husband. Her children are out to the school, college or to a training institution and there they could face anything which she would not be bear. She may start thinking on the future of her children and she may be facing some financial difficulty because of which they shall not be able to marry their daughter or daughters. There could be a trouble with her daughter who is already married, but the people in the house of her in laws are not satisfied with the dowry items and the cash which she had brought from her parents. And she may be having worries that the people could kill her by burning or they could create such situations in which her daughter could commit a suicide.
Her husband is the only earning member in the family and now he has got his parents, his younger brothers and sisters and sometime a sister who is widow is also staying with them because the people in her in laws house could not keep her. The man is out working and during this busy period he is free from worries, but the wife who is sitting at home cannot get freedom from all these worries and that is the reason, women here in India are not living the same long life as their husbands are living and most of them die very early.
And here she suffers mentally because she is not taken into confidence by other members in the family and they are deciding all serious matters when she is not present and often then would not tell what had happened and what had been the decision in the house. And it is on record that most of the husbands keep all their earnings with them and they do not give their earnings to the wife and she is at all the time living a life of a beggar. She is not at liberty to have shopping and often her husband is purchasing all for her and that is the reason most of the house wives are not in a position to purchase their own articles which she needs and which her husband cannot purchase.
The man is wasting most part of their earning outside and then they compel their wives to run the family administration with money which has been left behind and when she is not in a position to run the family administration, she is rebuked and is designated as spent-thrift. The people in the house are not believing in the accounts she is submitting and in most of the cases they start saying that she has misappropriated some sums or she has embezzled some sums for her own use. The woman who are working and earning could live long life because they are free and they get some time to be out of these worries and troubles which are always present in the house where she lives. That is the reason, most of the people in India have started giving proper education to their daughters and they are trying that they should get a job before they are married so that they should not be dependant upon their husbands. They are wise and if number of such parents rise, the woman of India shall get some relief.
It is on record that number of women is going down and that is the reason some men are remaining unmarried. This position creates more troubles for the woman because the men are trying to break and cross the matrimonial limits. There are cases of rape and cases of adultery. We have been told that some parents have started selling their daughters against high prices. Some girls are taken away by gangs and they are being utilized as prostitutes, dancing girls, call girls or the like. If the number of women goes down, all these evils shall grow in number and all these institutions shall be established permanently and there are chances even the state shall be giving these institutions to grow so that women with husbands could live a safer life.
Since women is weak, she is the sufferer and that is the reason, if we count people who are suffering mentally and physically, the number of women shall be on the higher side. We should try to improve the situation and such a course shall be there only when this woman is given equal status with man and if we examine the present position in India and in all the other countries, we find that woman in all the countries is the sufferer and her conditions could be better only to some extent and she is not wholly out of danger in any part of the world.
